Mumbai metro Lone 1 or Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar (VAG) corridor is the first Metro rail corrider developed for the economical capital city of Mumbai to ease the traffic congestion. This is the city's 1st east-west rail connectivity. The line starts from Versova in the west to Ghatkopar in the east via Andheri.

The operation and Maintenance of the Mumbai Metro Line 1 project are to ensure that the project is operated & maintained following the terms of the Concession Agreement and international best practices.

To act fairly and independently in the overall interest of the project as per provisions of the Concession Agreement (CA) signed between MMRDA and Mumbai Metro One Private Ltd (MMOPL), a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure for VAG Metro Corridor.

To ensure that any modification, repair, or any improvements to the VAG Corridor comply with Performance Specifications and Standards, and other requirements outlined in Concession Agreement, Good Industry Practice, Applicable Laws, and Applicable Permits and manufacturer's guidelines and instructions.

To approve safety and operation plan for the MRTS as proposed by the Concessionaire

To carry out inspections of assets to assess their serviceability and ensure compliance with all divestment requirements

To verify occurrence and effect of Force Majeure, exceptional events caused by technical issues if any, and certify payable compensation/time extension as required.

Any other duty not specifically listed above but necessary for successful O&M or as may be construed from the CA as required

For any change in scope order, advice and assist MMRDA and the Concessionaire regarding cost and time element for its implementation and certify reasonableness of payment, etc.
