Detailed Project Report for Chennai Peripheral Ring Road Development of 133 km

Client: Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA).

After the implementation of Peripheral Ring Road in Chennai (CPRR), there was a requirement for further expansion of the ring and radial road network corresponding to expanding traffic demand.
Based on this background, a preparatory study for the Chennai Peripheral Ring Road Development was initiated by the Government of Tamil Nādu, under assistance from JICA.
The major objective of the DPR was to examine procurement and construction method, implementation schedule, project organization, the capability of operation and maintenance, social and environmental conditions, and evaluate project cost and feasibility of CPRR.

PADECO INDIA Team of experts were involved in the below-mentioned activities in this project:

Road Operation and Maintenance Planning.

Collecting and analyzing the information related to Operation and Maintenance(O&M).

Road Structure preliminary design including Bridge, Drainage Facilities, Traffic Safety Facilities of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (Widening Section 36.5km, New Section 96.8km, Total Length approximately 133km).

Construction Planning is based on the site survey and the preliminary design including temporary facilities (office, accommodation, camp yard, construction yard).

Traffic closure for construction work, social and environmental consideration during mobilization of machinery and material, and minimization of impact on the life of residents.
