Planning for Multimodal integration for Mumbai Metro Line 2A & Line 7.

Client: Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

It is observed that at Metro stations, due to a large number of commuters and the confluence of multiple modes of transit, the station areas tend to get congested. This results in the reduction of efficiency, reliability of public transport modes of access, and unsafe conditions for pedestrians. In this regard, MMRDA initiated a project to study and plan the immediate station area and the station catchment areas to organize the movement of metro passengers by integrating them with other modes of transport such as buses, taxis, auto-rickshaws, Ola, Uber, etc. The study also intends to enhance the ridership of the metro stations by providing efficient last-mile connectivity to the users.
